SMALL-DIAMETER LUMBER

We recover small-diameter trees—typically less than 12 inches in diameter—that would otherwise be chipped, piled, or burned.

When suitable, these trees are milled into quality lumber and kiln-dried for manufacturing.

Otherwise, they may be processed and sold as “green” lumber, or used for other purposes such as firewood, to maximize their value and reduce in-forest wildfire fuel loads.

Species: We primarily mill thinned Douglas fir but also mill small-diameter redwood when responsibly harvested to enable old growth characteristics in the forest.
